NFC East Predictions

New York Giants

They are clearly going through a transition phase and I like many, do not expect them to win too many games this season. Their best chances most likely come against Washington who they will play twice and against the Bengals and rookie Joe Burrow when they meet in late November. Then there is the game against Kyler Murray and the Cardinals who will present another chance for a W, although I am not confident in them getting the win there. Both Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley will have to ball out for 16 games for them to be any shot. Giants finish 4-12

With new coach Ron Rivera at the helm and new co-ordinators in Jack Del Rio on defence and Scott turner on offence there is plenty of change going on in the nation’s capital. Picking up Chase Young at pick 2 in the draft was a great pick and will certainly help there pass rush. Dwayne Haskins will most likely get to start for the first 4 games at least while Alex Smith is recovering from his nasty injury. With Adrien Peterson being released this week, there a many questions on how they will be able to put up enough points consistently to win games this year. Like the Giants their best chances of winning games this year will come against their division rival in New York, along with facing Joe Burrow and the Bengals. Detroit will also provide a chance to get a win on the board. Expect another season under.500. Washington go 5-11.

Philadelphia Eagles.

Carson Wentz needs to stay healthy for the Eagles in 2020. Last year he did something that he has not been able to do in the previous two, play all 16 games. He posted good numbers too, 4,039 yards and 27 TD’s/ You get the sense he will have to at least post similar if not better numbers for the Eagles to retain the division title. They do have Jalen Hurts in the wings too, but according to reports, he will be the Eagles gadget guy on offence. Adding Darius Slay on defence was a great pick up and gives their secondary some much-needed speed. Their offence has the potential to be explosive, but they are prone to injuries and they must stay healthy for Wentz to take them where they want to go. Eagles finish 10-6.

Dallas Cowboys.

A new head coach and another stud weapon for Prescott to throw too and an improved defence, it seems all is shaping up for Dallas to make a long playoff run in 2020. Adding Ceedee Lamb to the offence which rated top 5 in every important category last season will surely make opposition co-ordinators have fits. Adding Everson Griffen and having Tyrone Crawford returning on defence with Demarcus Lawrence along with having Randy Gregory reinstated the defence has some real fear factor. As is with the last few seasons, much is expected of Dak and his team. With a lot of hype coming into the season with new weapons on both sides of the ball, along with an experienced head coach in Mike McCarthy, everything points to the Cowboys having a bounce-back year, and just imagine if they sign Earl Thomas, expectations will go through the roof. Cowboys finish 12-4 and win the division.
