Cowboys Vs Rams
With a wealth of attacking options at Dak Prescott’s disposal, many expect Dallas to have one of the most explosive offences in the league. However, the Rams boast one of if not the best defensive player in the league in Aaron Donald, so the Cowboys offensive line will have to negate his impact to allow Dak time to throw to his receivers.
Let us not forget the defensive potential for Dallas too. Demarcus Lawrence, Everson Griffen, Tyrone Crawford, and Aldon Smith are all capable of getting to Goff repeatedly.
For the Rams, they start life without Todd Gurley, and it could simply be a running back by committee for this season. With rookies Cam Akers and Raymond Calais along with Darrell Henderson who all could potentially get their chances throughout the game and heading into the rest of the season.
Jarod Goff, like Prescott, does have some weapons at his disposal too, although not as flashy. Wideout’s Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods will be expected to carry much of the offensive burden this year, along with tight ends Gerald Everett and Tyler Higbee, Goff does have to options around him to put up points.
If Tom Brady and his Buccs were not facing Drew Brees and his Saints, then for me this matchup would have been game of the week. Prescott and his offence will be expected to put up points in this one, even with Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey to deal with, Dallas should have too much for the Rams to deal with.
Cowboys Vs Rams
However, with no preseason games and limited training camp, most of us are unsure exactly what to expect. If the Chiefs and Texans game is anything to go by then expect a lot of points in this one too. For me, I like Dallas in this one but only just. I expect the Cowboys to go into Sofi Stadium and spoil the Rams opening of their new stadium, much like the Giants did when Jerry World was first opened.
I like Dallas in this and I for one am excited to see how this Cowboys side looks with Mike McCarthy controlling things. With Zeke Elliott, Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, and Ceedee Lamb, they will give Dak a whole host of options. Cowboys win this one and start their off in style. Dallas 27-Rams 17.
